چکیده

Nuclear factorB (NFB) is an inducible transcription factor which plays important role in the regulation of the immune, inflammatory and carcinogenic responses. Partial NFB activation is necessary for normal cell survival and immunity; however the deregulated NFB expression is associated with cancer development, metastasis, and in several inflammatory disorders with a resistant phenotype and poor prognosis. Therefore, NFB has become an interesting target for drug discovery and several natural and synthetic products have been screened for their ability to inhibit NFB pathway. This review surveys the plant natural products with significant NFB inhibitory activity focusing on their potential mechanism of action and their implications for cancer therapy. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

P133: Targeting NF-Κb Signaling Pathway as Potential Therapeutic with Curcumin in Treatment of Multiple Sclerosis

Curcumin is active component of turmeric and isolated from the rhizome of turmeric, a phenolic natural product. One of inflammatory disease is multiple sclerosis, a multifocal chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease of the CNS, which is also known as a perivascular demyelinating disease. Studies have been shown that neuro-inflammation can have both harmful and beneficial effects on the neuronal...

Bacillus thuringiensis - Mediated Priming Induces Jasmonate/Ethylene and Salicylic Acid-Dependent Defense Pathways Genes in Tomato Plants

Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner as a biological control agent can play a crucial role in the integrated management of a wide range of plant pests and diseases. B. thuringiensis is expected to elicit plant defensive response through plant recognition of microbe-associated molecular patterns (MAMPs), however, there is little information on the molecular base of induced systemic ...

Sinapic Acid Derivatives as Potential Anti-Inflammatory Agents: Synthesis and Biological Evaluation

Transcription factor NF-κB and relevant cytokines IL-6 and IL-8 play a pivotal role in thepathogenesis of inflammation. Sinapic acid is a natural product and was demonstrated to possessanti-inflammatory activity. In this paper, we synthesized a series of sinapic acid derivativesand evaluated their anti-inflammatory effects. The result suggested that all of the targetscompounds 7a-j inhibit NF-κ...

Improving Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Drought Tolerance by Suppressing a NF-YA Transcription Factor

The response to drought stress is a complicated process involving stress sensing, intracellular signaltransduction, and the execution of a cellular response. Transcription factors play important roles in the signaling pathways including abiotic stress. In the present study a rice NF-YA transcription factor gene was partially characterized following dehydration. Disrupting the gene via a T...
